Centrum Pile Ltd played a key role in the successful delivery of the piling works for a large scale project at London Gateway, supplying the precast concrete piles that formed the foundation solution for this major industrial development.
Working in partnership with Aarsleff Ground Engineering, Centrum manufactured and supplied approximately 11,500 precast concrete piles to support a £9 million ground engineering package at the strategically important London Gateway logistics hub. The project required an exceptional level of manufacturing capacity, quality control and logistical coordination to meet an ambitious construction programme.
The development demanded a high-volume piling solution capable of supporting large industrial floor loadings across an extensive site area. The scheme required:
Approximately 13,000 precast concrete piles.
Pile diameters ranging from 250mm to 300mm.
Installed pile lengths of around 225,000 linear metres.
A demanding 12.5-week construction programme.
Continuous material supply to support up to nine piling rigs operating simultaneously on site.

The manufacturing operation was supported by a six-week pre-delivery and on-site vesting period, enabling stock levels to be built up ahead of the main installation phase and ensuring uninterrupted supply once piling works commenced.
