Eastwood Park, Nottingham

Buckingham Group were awarded the build contract for the development of three commercial sheds, along with associated parking and offices, for Eastwood Park.

The 12.8-hectare site was previously exploited for opencast coal mining which had been reclaimed and infilled, leaving soft and waterlogged ground. Because of this, ground conditions across the site were unsuitable for conventional pad foundations and it was proposed that the use of end bearing piles to carry any developments.

Two of the three commercial sheds deemed suitable for piling, with Centrum Pile supplying 6,118 No. 350mm & 250mm square precast piles for the larger of the two sheds. A further 1,054 No. steel tubular piles were driven for the smaller shed, which were driven up to 33m in length.

Centrum pile’s manufacturing facility is capable of casting piles in square sections from 200mm to 400mm and from 4m in length up to 14m.
